Terra Soft Solutions' Black Lab Linux Excels on CSPI's New FastCluster System

Very high performance computer supports up to 1000 nodes!

LOVELAND, Colorado -- 10 April 2000 -- Terra Soft Solutions, Inc., the leading developer of Linux solutions for PowerPC(TM) microprocessors, today announced that its Black Lab Linux distribution has been chosen to power CSP Inc.'s (NASDAQ: CSPI) FastCluster(TM) high performance computing systems.

FastCluster uses a modular PowerPC-based architecture to pack up to 6 times the performance into equivalent space when compared to other clusters. FastCluster systems target the most demanding scientific and technical applications as well as very high performance database and web service environments.

Troy Benjegerdes, Terra Soft's lead developer for Black Lab Linux stated, "Black Lab operates on CSPI's boards as an embedded OS with full AltiVec development support available. Apple's PowerPC hardware offers a development and test environment identical to that on which the final code will operate--no cross-compilers required--saving time, effort, and cost."

Terra Soft's Black Lab Linux offers a full featured software suite specially designed for multiprocessor PowerPC systems with emphasis on robustness, high performance, and low cost. CSPI's FastCluster system is conveniently packaged for standard 19-inch cabinetry and is powered by the newest PowerPC processors, including those incorporating Motorola's AltiVec(TM) technology. Systems may be configured from 16 to 1,000 processing nodes interconnected with high speed Myrinet(TM) switches to provide the cluster size required for each application.
