This page assumes Y-HPC is already installed and running.
- Check to make certain the Y-HPC daemon is running, as root:
ps aux | grep "python" [ENTER]
... and look for a line which contains "/usr/lib/yhpc/daemon.pyc".
- If the Y-HPC daemon is not running, as root:
service yhpcd start [ENTER]
This will start the Y-HPC daemon which configures and starts your DHCP, TFTP, and Rsync servers.NOTE! This action will overwrite /etc/dhcpd.conf and /etc/rsyncd.conf and create /etc/init.d/tfpd if it does not already exist.
- Launch the Y-HPC Main window. From the command line, as root:
yhpcgui [ENTER]
- Select DHCP Settings from the Edit menu. Configure to match the setup of your internal network (Head Node /
Compute Node Network). Select "Apply" then "Ok". This will restart the DHCP server with the new settings. Note the temporary IP address range is used by
Y-HPC to assign new nodes (those which have not yet been recognized by Y-HPC) a temporary IP address until rebooted.
- Netboot your nodes. See Netboot nodes for assistance with Apple G5, PS3, and generic x86
compute nodes.
- You may monitor the netboot progress via the Y-HPC Main Overview
window or the Y-HPC Main Details window. If monitoring the Overview),
you will notice a color change for each stage of reconstruction, as follows:
