Open Source Tools for Power, Cell

The goal of this page is not to teach you how to program, rather to provide a portal to programming tools and tutorials, assuming you have a decent background in Linux-based programming.

In general, Yellow Dog Linux ships with a variety of programming tools, including languages, compilers, and Integrated Development Environments (IDE):
IBM SDK
The run time environment of the open portion of the IBM Cell SDK is with Yellow Dog Linux installed by default. The open Cell SDK developer tools may be installed via yum or found in the RPMs directory of the Install DVD. The commercial portion of the IBM SDK for RHEL is binary compatible with Yellow Dog Linux v6.x and will function without major issues.

IBM offers a set of sample codes built upon the Cell SDK.
