CSPI The 2841
Multicomputer from CSP Inc. utilizes PowerPC Altivec Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) technology combined with Myrinet network
technology to provide an open expandable system solution. In a single slot 6U form factor it has four PPC AltiVec processors (7400L), each
with 256MB SDRAM, 32MB Flash PROM, and 16 port Myrinet crossbar switch.
The Multicomputer combines a PowerPC for math and network control with a dedicated LANai ASIC processor for simultaneously handling Myrinet traffic.
This is the first complete solution to Multicomputer Network Processing (MNP). This two level solution yields simultaneous 13 GFLOP/sec and 500MB/sec absolute peak operation of 7400L AltiVec velocity engine with the Myrinet crossbar fabric. This also features:
- ECC RAM
- POST (built in test)
- Live insertion and 10 second app off-to-on boot capability.
- 4x 7400L Altivec PPC's @ 400Mhz 13 GFLOP/sec.
- LANai ASIC and Myrinet networking, 500MB/sec (duplex).
- 256MB SDRAM and 32MB Flash EEPROM per processor.
- 16x Port Myrinet crossbar switch.
- POST Power-On self-test speeds maintenance.
- Hot Swap capability for live removal and insertion.
- Highest processing and bandwidth density in a single 6U VME slot.
Terra Soft worked with CSPI to developed a port of Yellow Dog Linux as an embedded OS for CSPI's high-performance PowerPC boards. Contact CSPI for more information ...
