Mercury Computer has since 2005 enlisted Terra Soft as a preferred Linux OS Board Support Package developer, starting with the XR9 1U rackmount, dual-970 HPC node and now with the regular development and maintenance of the world's first commercial Linux OS for the Cell processor.

As the preferred OS, Yellow Dog Linux is made available with each Cell blade, pre-installed. In addition, YDL is used in-house at Mercury for system bring-up and code development.
