Momentum Media, Mark Nye, Production Department, states, "This morning FedEx showed up with my brand new 800mhz iBook...which I soon discovered is incapable of booting OS X past single user mode. I've tried reinstalling OS X server times now, always with the same result: the computer gets stuck immediately after the grey apple startup screen.
So, I though, why not try Yellow Dog? I partitioned the drive and soon had your fine distro sitting next to a fresh OS X partition. The result? Yellow Dog 3.0 runs perfectly on the machine. Furthermore, OS X starts up and runs without a problem under MOL.
My office mate suggests that I call Apple, play stupid, and say, "I can't get Jaguar to run without the help of Yellow Dog and Mac-on-Linux. Is there an easier way?"
