YDL keeps families connected

Bird Lei writes
My parents are in Macau (It is 1 hour from Hong Kong). My dad is a graphics designer and he uses Macs. After a few upgrades, there are a few of them sitting at home doing nothing. And I found that it is a great opportunity to try out YDL. It is a Power Computing Mac clone.

The first YDL version I put on it was Champion 1.2. After I set it up, it just runs without any problems. Since then I have been using it at home as the file server (AppleTalk + Samba), firewall, mail server, web server, and router. Just everything! We have a small LAN consisting of 6 computers. Now it is running YDL 2.1.

Yes, from the other side of the globe!
Why don't I upgrade it newer version? Because I am now in Texas (Hook'em Horns!) and have no physical access to the computer. I do remote access it for regular maintenances. Yes, from the other side of the globe! It had a 6 months uptime record and was rebooted just because of power outage!

The Macs at school are still running OS X, but I will try to build a cluster out of the surplus. (probably with your new YDL!)
