TERRA SOFT SHOWCASE

I'm not much of an Apple/Mac guy. Most of my experience is with x86 machines ...
Last month an old 450 MHz G4 made the path back to our door (NCSU College of Management) for surplus. Out of curiosity, I wanted to put an OS back on the system to see some of the fabled Apple hardware up close and personal. Since I had no Apple software, I tried Yellow Dog 3.

It was quite easy to use and configure.
After preparing to have to bludgeon out partitions and format a drive on an entirely unfamiliar piece of equipment, I simple booted off your CD first, I was shocked! It started asking me all those partition questions I had dreaded tackling manually. In less than an hour your system was meeting, greeting and wagging its tail ;-)

Your distribution had a familiar look and feel. It was quite easy to use and configure. I haven't had the opportunity to really put it through its paces yet but, I really like what I see so far! Recently, I've been mucking about with the nines..Suse, Red Hat and Solaris. They just aren't as friendly as Yellow Dog (the Dawg). Installing Suse 9 is just ugly (proportional to the ugliness of the ftp/http server to which you are attached.something so simple gone so wrong!).

You did lots of good work in putting together your Apple/Mac distributions! Thanks for your efforts.
