THANK YOU!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
I don't know if this will mean anything to you, but I have to say I LOVE THIS OS. First off, you provided full information on what will work and what will not(there isn't much that doesn't work). That is important when deciding to try an os. The only quirks are either due to me goofing something up or they are so minor, that it doesn't matter. My computer can do everything I need it to with ydl ... except everything is faster and more stable. I am not a Windows or OS hater ... I just do not require all the extra services that "HAVE TO RUN" on those systems. I feel in control of my computer, now ... that is how it should be.
I did a minimal install and picked individual packages that I needed because the installer met all my dependencies automatically (VERY NICE). I run TWM mostly because I normally do not need a pretty gui up and running. I gotta get work done. I use GNOME when people are around to impress them(hehehe).
My job requires ms office ... I don't have it ... I use Gnumeric and Ooffice. It works perfectly and I can connect to the network to transfer data and edit reports with ease. At home, I use the computer to play mp3s, im, surf the web, etc. I also ftp to my daughters computer to back up her hard drive to my hard drive ... again, no prob.
