... to you all for producing a fantastic release of YDL 3.0. I had previously used 2.3 on my Beige G3 DT/233 and found it a little slow, but not so with version 3! The installer was speedy, helpful and straightforward. Once I had installed YDL and booted into it, the OS sprang to life as my KDE desktop appeared. I was immediately impressed by the speed increase of this version - one YUM session later I was the proud owner of a "new" G3.

I was so impressed that I went straight for an install on my G4's second HD. If the G3 was fast, wow the G4 is even better! After the install and update, I was hugely impressed by the speed of the system on the G4. Apple really need to take a leaf from the Linux book and improve the speed of the Finder and the GUI. YDL is almost as fast as a tightly configured OS 9 install but of course much less prone to falling over!

So in one evening I had installed and updated YDL on two Macs, and the only issue I encountered is the yaboot reconfiguration as I have two drives in the G4, and configuring my dual monitor setup. All part of the fun, as I see it! Next in line for attention is the iBook, which I hope to run with OS 9, OS X, and YDL.

I would also like to add that I ordered the Geek edition which was shipped to very quickly and easily to the UK from the US. The only delay I encountered was due a UK Bank Holiday Why do I always order stuff when there is a public holiday?
