TOPIC: Configuring YDL.net
This guide details the ways you can configure YDL.net for your system.
First Boot Module
As part of the First Boot of a graphically installed system, YDL.net may be configured.
Public Mirrors Available:
Public Mirrors Unavailable:
- If your distribution allows the use of public mirrors, the entering of a YDL.net username and password will be optional, enabled by clicking the "Use YDL.net" checkbox.
- If this option is selected, and no username or password is entered, you will be prompted for them, but given the option to skip this configuration.
- If public mirrors are not available, only the username and password fields are enabled.
- If no username or password is entered, you will be prompted for them, but given the option to skip this configuration.
Standalone App
YDL.net can be configured after a text based installation, or reconfigured on an already installed system.
Display present:
No display present:
- You may configure YDL.net at any time after installation by selecting: System -> Administration -> YDL.net
- A window is presented which follows the same layout as the First Boot module.
- You may configure YDL.net at any time after installation by running system-config-ydlnet
- A command line utility is run which takes the following (or prompts you)
- -u USERNAME, --username=USERNAME
- -w PASSWORD, --password=PASSWORD
- If public mirrors are available, the additional option -p is enabled
- -p , --public
- If you use -p, do not specify a username or password
